I know, she’s cute and just sooooo fluffy! The last thing you’re thinking of when your puppy is a whopping 8 weeks old is a haircut, but that’s exactly when you should start bringing them. You see, grooming is a pretty extensive ordeal, especially for a baby that’s brand new to the world, so we want time to introduce them slowly. Generally, we start with a puppy trim every two weeks. A puppy trim is a minimal package and the very first groom is mainly just to introduce them to our routine. They get their eyes, feet and their booties trimmed, their nails buffed and their breath freshened so they can give all the puppy kisses they want. They’re introduced to a loud, scary blow dryer, a slippery bath tub, vibrating clippers and a groomer ready to sweet talk them through the whole time. There‘s a score of people in our buildings ready to dole out all the love your Diamond needs until that love is all they think about when they come in.As the puppies get older we can not only help you understand what your puppy needs from you at home, but we can help your puppy understand what we expect from her.
Having them on a schedule helps your puppy rely on consistency and routine so that when you’re ready for their big kid haircut, they are too! We like to see our Diamonds loving their groom, confident when they’re out in the world. We want to see them shining bright, ready to take on whatever’s next because they trust the people standing behind them.
